I’ve been on this journey for a long time and I still don’t know where I’m heading to. My life has never been predictable. As a child, I was certain I’d be great when I grow up. But life begged to differ. I got lost in the sea of dreams and lagged in the race of ambition. I exchanged textbooks for life. I left biographies for real people. I neglected history for current events. But all-in-all I didn’t turn out so bad. I’d say the bumpy ride fueled my enthusiasm to battle onwards. And what magic separates mediocrity from accomplishment if not enthusiasm?
So where do I go from here? I honestly don’t know and I don’t even want to find out. I think the stuff that makes the journey worthwhile is the unknown. For in that, you focus on the journey itself and not fall into the trap of being so keen on the destination and failing to notice the milestones, the turning points, the change of sceneries, and arriving at the end exactly the same person that started the journey. For me, the crown of laurel leaves befits the person who best assimilates the lessons of life and and cherishes every detail with a smile – be it blissful or distasteful. I want my life to be a glaring mosaic of each single step that I’ve taken, a collage of every person that I’ve crossed paths with, an intricate embroidery of all lessons learned. I want to love with all of my heart and give more than what's enough with purely selfless intentions. At the end of my journey, I want to look at my life and see it become larger, brighter and greater than me.
